Friday more than11-hundred athletes took part in the Fresno County Special Olympics.

This was the 44th annual track and field competition.

We spoke with some of the athletes. “Running, about to do the jump whatever you call it,” said Anthony Martinez a participant in Friday’s event.

“I was doing some shot puts because I'm strong like a Superman or Hercules,” said Matt Eskender.

Over 60 schools and agencies were registered to compete in Friday's events.

The competition is the largest Special Olympics event in the state so far this year.

Our congratulations to all the participants in Friday’s events.
