Fresno's most wanted identity thief has been captured.   Police arrested 34-year old Joshua Moynier following a police pursuit where he allegedly crashed his SUV and then tried to run away.  The wreck happened in southeast Fresno around 3:30 pm Wednesday on Belmont, near Barton Avenue.

The burgundy Hyundai Santa Fe's collision with a curb destroyed steel and concrete and made a trash can look like a roll of chicken wire.  The suspect also mangled a bus stop.  Nobody was waiting there at the time and that might be the most amazing part of this story because nearby business owners say it's usually packed with passengers.

The owner of Belmont Burger was working the grill when he heard the wreck.

"It was like a bomb," said Cheam Chiv, owner of Belmont Burger.

Not only did his sign get damaged, the restaurant lost half a day's business.

"Made me very upset," said Chiv.

Investigators say it started with Moynier running a stop sign at Fairmont and Willow in Clovis.  As an officer tried to pull him over, Moynier sped away.  He reached 90 mph, drove against traffic at times and nearly hitting a sheriff's deputy's truck.  The sheriff's helicopter followed him from above until the crash happened.

"I get tired of the stupidity the people have," said Terry Tucker of Chuck's Transmission Service.

Terry Tucker watched the whole thing play out from his transmission shop.  He couldn't believe it when the bloodied suspect crawled out of the vehicle and ran away.

"He was a big boy, a big guy.  I don't know if he was spun out or what was going on with him, but he was running and he wasn't listening to no one," said Tucker.

Officers and deputies teamed up to tackle and handcuff the suspect in a nearby neighborhood at Rowell and Madison Avenues.

"I'm glad they were on top of it," said Jack, a neighbor.

Reporter:  "Are you shocked anymore by people's behavior and what they'll do to try and get away?  "

"Not Fresno.  Not in Fresno anymore," said Jack.

Moynier is an AB 109er, which is someone who is serving the remainder of their sentence outside of state prison.  He'll now be booked into jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a deputy, fraud and burglary.
