Fire Destroys a Home in Visalia

        A former Visalia city councilman and his family are grieving the loss of their pets and home.
        A fire destroyed Greg Kirkpatrick's home Wednesday night.
        The family had two dogs and five cats and were watching another cat for a friend.
        Two cats died in the fire, two cats are missing and two were found alive.
        The two dogs are safe and staying with a family friend.
        Firefighters say the fire was an accident that started in the kitchen.
        A family friend started an account to help the Kirkpatrick family.
