A husband and wife continue to recover in the hospital and Fresno Police are still trying to find the people
who nearly killed them.
The couple was shot late Sunday night while inside the Crossroads Nightclub on Cedar and Shields in east
central Fresno.
The 28-year old woman was critically wounded and is fighting for her life. Her 35-year old husband was
struck by bullets too, but he is expected to be ok.
Investigators say and the shooting was not random. There was a certain theme at the bar Sunday night which
attracted west Fresno gang members. Police say a husband and wife got into an argument with some of them
and then gunshots rang out.
"We've had this incident and another incident with a beating that occurred that had some type of nexus to
the bar. We're looking at surveillance video, we're talking to neighbors, we're doing everything right
now," said Lt. Mark Salazar of the Fresno Police Dept.
Customer, Lorenzo Garcia, calls the violent outburst an embarrassment.
"There's good things that come out of here, good history and just sometimes bad history. It takes one
person to destroy for everyone else," said Lorenzo Garcia, a customer.
