Cal Fire is starting defensible space inspections early in high risk areas. Wild fires are up significantly this year and there is a lot of potential fuel for fire in the foothills. In April, inspectors will be going door to door making sure homeowners are following the law, which is 100 feet of defensible space. It's an effort to promote safety in light of the drought.
