Visalia has made changes to it's water conservation ordinance. The city council voted to reduce the amount of watering days from 3 days a week to just one. This will be in effect most of the year with the exception of the hot summer months. The city is also prohibiting the use of misting systems unless it's for animal care. This means restaurants can't use them on patios and neither can homeowners. The changes are expected to cut water use in the city by 22%. Water patrol will also be out enforcing the ordinance. A first time violation will just be a warning but a second violation will lead to a fine.
