Tuesday was the four year anniversary of the deaths of Fresno County Deputy Sheriff, Joel Wahlenmaier and Reedley Police Officer, Javier Bejar. They were shot and killed in the small town of Minkler on this day in 2010.
Wahlenmaier was serving a search warrant at the home of Rick Liles, who shot both men.
A standoff ensued, and Liles ended up taking his own life.
Tuesday, a 17-year-old Girl Scout, from Sanger unveiled her memorial tribute to Wahlenmaier and Bejar.
Bryn Cloud is a 17-year-old senior at Sanger High School.
She designed the memorial as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, adding a flagpole with a solar light, benches, and a memorial garden to the current memorial in honor of the two officers.
The memorial took six months to make.
Bryn received $8,000 from the community to help complete the project.
Bryn will be at the Girl Scout Gold Awards Ceremony in April at the Tulare Ag Center.
She'll be one of the scouts up for the honor.
The gold award is the highest honor a girl scout can receive.
