A woman suffering from burns to her upper body and face was taken to Community Regional Medical Center following a house fire in Fresno.
The fire happened late Thursday afternoon at a home near the Chandler Airport in Southwest Fresno.
An elderly woman was rescued from her burning home. A neighbor says she saw smoke and an explosion. “When they went to try and pull the door open, the whole front corner just blew up and it spread it over to the second house. Then everything was just in flames and all the windows just started to explode as if it was something combustible,” said the neighbor.
The elderly woman was taken to the hospital with burns over 40% of her body.
No word yet on what started the fire.
