30-year-old Andrew Shabazz was found dead at a home off Avenue 19 and Road 12 Wednesday night.
Investigators believe it was the result of a domestic dispute.
They say Shabazz was apparently involved in some sort of fight with his stepfather, 57-year-old James Chew.
Chew is recovering in the hospital from stab wounds.
The Madera County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
