Eyewitness News has learned more about the criminal past of accused shooter Joshua Lewis.
According to court records, the 21-year-old had been in trouble with the law before. Lewis's case file in the Fresno County Courthouse showed he was charged with two felonies in 2012. They included street terrorism for participating in a gang and promoting criminal gang activity.
Fresno police say Lewis was a validated East Side Fresno Bulldog. The other charge was for carrying a loaded gun in public.
Records show Lewis took a plea deal in June of 2012. He was sentenced to serve about 250 days in Fresno County Jail but actually served 74 days and was released early for overcrowding.
Lewis was on felony probation when this incident happened on Thursday.
Chief Dyer also mentioned this afternoon Lewis had a juvenile record, but those cases are confidential.
