A carjacking turns deadly in Northwest Fresno. Just before 6pm Thursday night, police say the suspect crashed his vehicle at Marks and Emerson. He then carjacked a woman at gunpoint and forced her to drive to Shaw and Polk. He then attempted to carjack a minivan. He shot the driver of the vehicle. The man drove on to 99 Southbound, where he collapsed and called 911. The suspect then approached a pickup. Inside were a husband and wife. The suspect shot the driver - killing him - then shot the man's wife. The suspect then moved to another car across the street and shot out the window. As he tried to take another vehicle, an off duty state prison guard sprang into action. He was armed and shot the suspect - who drove away. He made it a few miles away to Jameson and Gettysburg where he crashed into a ditch. The suspect got out of the vehicle and attempted to walk away but collapsed and died. The motives of the carjacker are still under investigation and there is no word yet on his name.
