A former star athlete is behind bars tonight, arrested on a $290,000 warrant.
Undercover officers from Fresno's Violent Crime Impact Team got an anonymous tip that a suspect was hiding out in a residence on East Illinois Avenue.
They conducted a surveillance operation of the residence , and saw 26 year old Adam Pickensleaving the home.
Pickens was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant for transporting drugs
Officers say he was carrying meth at the time of his arrest.
Officers then raided the home and arrested other suspects on felony charges.
Investigators found a 12 gauge tactical shotgun inside the home.
Pickens was taken into custody for the drug warrant, and now faces an additional charge of being in possession of meth.
Officers say Pickens was a standout athlete at Clovis High School, and went on to play semi-professional baseball.
