A semi-truck and Ford sedan collided on Highway 180.
The semi exploded into a ball of flame. The driver was killed. The passenger was thrown to safety and survived. The semi was destroyed.
Neighbors heard the crash.
“It was like bombs, it’s like a movie with napalm going down the side of the road,” said neighbor Terry Ince.

The crash was so powerful, the front axle was torn from the semi. The driver had no way to control the truck.
It’s terrifying to those who drive big rigs in the valley.
“I'm constantly concerned about other obstructions on the road. Because they pose a threat to us, not only us but the other motoring public,” said driver Ahmed Muhammad.
Muhammad says he’s reported suspected drunk drivers on the road.
Drivers’ families are concerned by the crash too.
“I saw on the news this morning. I was worried because he's on the road all the time,” said Montha Kok.
She picked up her husband after he returned home from a cross-country trip.
Tha Kok says he usually drives at or under the speed limit.
“My daughter said ‘Dad why you drive so slow?’ And I told her ‘Well I want to come home in one piece to see you guys, I don't want to come home in pieces,” Kok said.
