A police chase in Fresno led to the arrest of a Bulldog gang member and the recovery of a handgun and drugs.

It all began around 12:20a.m. Sunday when Fresno Police attempted to stop a car driving at a high rate of speed near First and Belmont.

Police then gave chase to the vehicle until it came to a dead-end road.

The driver of the vehicle then fled on foot but was quickly detained by officers.

During the chase the driver appeared to have thrown a handgun from the vehicle which was recovered using a police K9.

A search of the vehicle then yielded over a pound of marijuana packaged for sale.

Some of which was breakfast cereal coated in "marijuana butter".

The suspect has been identified as 23 year-old Jesse Pulido of Fresno.

Pulido is a Bulldog gang member and was found to be on Federal probation for narcotic transportation and had an outstanding warrant issued by the U.S. Marshall for his arrest.

Pulido has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on numerous drug and weapons charges.
