Nearly two dozen people are without a place to live after an apartment fire in west Fresno.
The started Thursday afternoon at the Golden Garden Apartments on Marks Avenue. Heavy smoke and fire was reported in an upstairs unit.
The fire was the result of oil left on a stove and damage is estimated at $100-thousand dollars. Twenty two people from 8 units are being temporarily housed by the Red Cross.
Since January 1st of this year, at least 528 people have been displaced by structure fires in Fresno.
