More national attention for the Fresno State football program as head football coach Tim DeRuyter is one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year award.
DeRuyter has Fresno State off to just the school's third 9-0 start in program history and has the Bulldogs ranked 15th in the BCS standings.
Fresno State is also seventh in the nation in scoring at 44 points a game.
DeRuyter has an 18-4 career record with the Bulldogs in only his second season. Fresno State can clinch a spot in the Mountain West Championship Game with a win over New Mexico on Saturday.
The winner of the award will be announced December 17th.
