Sheriff's deputies in Kings County made numerous arrests on Wednesday morning after a month long investigation aimed at apprehending members of the Norteno criminal street gang.
Officials say 16 simultaneous search warrants were served in the county leading to 20 arrests on various charges such as drug trafficing, weapons violations and attempted murder. Another twenty arrests were made in the last 30 days on the same charges.
In addition to the arrests, agents also seized in more than 20 lbs. methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin and several illegal weapons.
The operation was designed to restore safety to the streets of all cities located in Kings County. Investigators identified the key gang leaders and created a complex investigative plan intended to make a significant impact on violent crimes in the Cities within the Kings County area.
