Across the nation, children are sexually abused every day. It's something parent, Ann Mason doesn't even want to think about.
The growing problem has prompted Immigration and Customs Enforcement to launch a one-of-a-kind App called "Operation Predator."
"It will enable the public to actively assist federal law enforcement in the protection of children," said Mike Prado with Homeland Security Investigations.
For instance, 37-year-old Kevin Thomas Trask can be found on the app.
He's wanted out of the Bay Area. He allegedly shared hundreds of photos
and numerous videos of sex acts with children and he could be right here in our backyard.
"It's believed that at some point he has crossed through the Valley on his way to Southern California. He may be hiding out potentially in the Valley," said Prado.
But it's not just the known suspects, they're also trying to locate the individuals who haven't been identified, otherwise known as "Jane" and "John Doe."
"These people have been identified by investigators, by agents investigating child pornography who have seen them in videos abusing children, but their identities are currently unknown," said Prado.
The free app allows you to submit a tip if you spot an alleged abuser.
"I think that's great to have that publicized like that, have it so it's accessible to parents," said Fresno parent, Shannon Lukes.
Lukes has two daughters and appreciates the warning and Mason says it's just one more way to keep a watchful eye.
