A Fresno City Councilman announced his bid for re-election on Wednesday. Clint Olivier gathered with constituents and community leaders, saying he wants to lead District 7 for four more years.
Some of the things he's done in his first term include improvements at Romain Park, cleaning up neighborhoods and combating prostitution along Blackstone.
The business that hosted the event Wednesday, Babcock Lawnmowers, has benefited from Olivier's work.
"It was obvious. There'd have been two or three [prostitutes] walking by here, had it been a couple years ago. But they've done quite a good job of slowing that down," said owner Phil Babcock.
Olivier says he wants to continue sticking up for businesses in his district.
"It helped keep the climate for business a healthy one, especially for this part of town. Everybody knows you can go to River Park to buy stuff, but guess what, you can buy stuff on Blackstone too," said Olivier.
The election for city council is June of 2014.
