Fresno County Sheriff's Eagle one helicopter made an emergency landing in a baseball field Wednesday night.
It happened at the Washington Union High school in Easton... off the 41 and elm street
As CBS47s Lemor Abrams reports, the pilot didn't want to take any chances.
Pilot Johnny Reyes was on the way to Fresno from a patrol call with two more deputies He felt the helicopter shutter. And Initially thought a bird had hit the rotor but then the shutter happened again and he realized it could be a mechanical failure. That's when he made his first emergency landing.
Reyes says he knew the field was the right place because other pilots have landed there before.
Eagle one will stay on the field overnight.
A mechanic will look at it in the morning and see if someone can fly it or if they have to tow it to the nearest air base.
Good news is, none was hurt.
