Firefighters in Fresno used a helmet mounted camera to capture what fire crews face when putting out a fire.
The fire ravaged a Fresno home early Monday morning and Fresno firefighters were on the scene within minutes.
Despite the loss of the home, something positive will come out of the blaze, thanks in part to the high tech camera equipment.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and the dramatic video captured by the GoPro cameras could turn out to be a life saver.
In the video, you can see the firefighter using a chainsaw to cut through a wooden door and a cut-off saw to cut through a metal gate.
Joey Coppo with the Fresno Fire Department said, "It's an excellent tool for us. We get to use it as a piece of equipment for training. It allows us to review our tactics and see if we can improve on anything."
The video will be used to help crewmen anticipate the actions of others.
Koby Johns with the Fresno Fire Department said, "We spend about a third of our lives together as a team, and so one of the things that's really important is understanding what other people on your team are going to be doing. The last thing we want people to think is that we're a bunch of camera operators, no, we're there to take care of the public and to protect their safety, not thinking about capturing good video."
The cause of the fire is unknown but the home was abandoned and has been known to be used by transients.
The fire was out in about thirty minutes and there were no injuries.
