Students in Lodi are protesting a contract aimed to curb cyber bullying.

The students at Bear Creek High School say it goes too far.

The students have to sign the social media contract if they want to join a club or play a sport.

The contract prohibits them from making profane or inappropriate remarks online and engaging in cyber bullying.

Student Sabrina Foster said, "The reason was to stop cyber bullying but it's covering that anything we talk about, anything we say about anyone, could be interpreted..."

Lawyers for the school district approved the language of the contract.

School administrators say they are not actively monitoring the students' pages, but will address cyber bullying if it's brought to their attention.
