An innocente bystander was hit by a man fleeing from police Friday evening. Around 6:40pm, Fresno Police tried to stop the man near Shaw and First Street. He then sped off. Police later broke off their pursuit but the driver lost control, hitting a woman who was sitting on the lawn in front of an apartment at Tenth and Roberts. The woman was pinned under the suspect's car. Dozens of bystanders came to her rescue, lifting the car off of her. She had a broken leg. The suspect is identified as 40-year-old Eric Farmer. He was arrested on multiple charges.
