Paris Turner was shot in the head at a home on Bond and Alluvial in Northeast Fresno. It's near Kastner Intermediate School. Fresno detectives are looking for the gunman and Paris' mother has a message for the shooter.
"For the people or person that has done this, they have no idea the damage that a gun can do," said Annette Turner.
Her 19-year-old daughter, Paris was shot early Saturday morning while having a gathering at her home in Fresno. Friends say uninvited people showed up and when asked to leave, they got aggressive. A bullet hole still sits in the center of the front window.
"It went in through the top part of her head and went through her brain and she's just having to heal," said Turner.
Detectives are working around the clock to find any leads. While Paris is still in critical condition, her mom is thankful she is alive and responsive.
"She's able to speak, she knows who we are...she knows her surroundings," said Turner.
Paris runs track at Fresno City College. Fiends and family say she's a strong and kind person who will continue to fight.
"She's always looked at the glass half full rather than half empty, so she's a fighter and she's in there fighting right now," said Paris' cousin, Monique Gary.
Family members send appreciation to those who are supporting and praying for Paris during this difficult time and Paris' mom also has a message for the person who has caused so much pain.
"You might have more leniency if you turn yourself in, because you're going to be found. And I really hope and pray that you don't put another gun in your hand or shoot another bullet out of that gun," said Turner.
The Fresno Police Department wants you to call them directly if you have any information on the shooting. You can of course also call the Crime Stopper's tip line and remain anonymous.
