“A vehicle would come out with bright lights on, pull around and slam on their breaks forcing the victims to stop in the middle of the road,” said Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Curtice.
In one incident a couple in their car stopped...and a suspect ran toward their car. The couple called 911 and drove to the Kingsburg Police Dept.
But other victims...couldn't escape.
Six people were injured. Five people were stabbed, received minor wounds.
Deputies caught and arrested these suspects when they pulled in front of the couple in Reedley.
They are from Fresno Sanger and Parlier.
“I think they were just random victims,” said Curtice.
Robberies happened all over
Local drivers are already thinking about their best defense.
“Learning how to do self defense, taking one of those classes...I've thought about that,” said Driver Bonnie Baguinguito.
Deputies say the suspects are also tied to a home invasion near Sanger.
Some folks we talked to say the crime spree shows cracks in the system.
“What's happening with the early release in the jails and what we need to do long term to balance the fight against crime, said Driver Linda Gleason.
For now, deputies are asking any more victims to come forward.
