Ever wanted to take a turn at smashing a wall? Here's your chance, and it's for a good cause. The Tribal Council parent club at Fresno High School will hold a "Bringing Down the Bunkers" fundraiser.  With two new buildings under construction using Measure Q funds, the existing library and administration buildings in front of the school, referred to as the "bunkers," will be demolished.  One swing is $5 and three swings $10.  To add to the fun, students will be allowed to write messages on the walls of the bunkers before they are demolished.

The event will include music, guest speakers and food and drink for sale, with a portion of Jamba Juice and Pacifica Pizza sales going toward the fundraiser. Parking will be available in the church lot across the street on Echo Avenue.

The fundraiser starts at 6pm, Tuesday, July 9th, Fresno High School - 1839 N. Echo Avenue.  Click on our link for more information.

Following the community's overwhelming support of the Measure Q local school bond in November 2010, more than $100 million in projects are underway or completed throughout the district, including the Fresno High buildings to replace the bunkers. The project will reestablish green space at the Echo entrance of the school, showcasing the historic beauty of Royce Hall. The two new buildings under construction to house classrooms, library, career center and administration have been designed for functionality and to compliment the architecture of Royce Hall.
