Holiday fun quickly turned deadly with two possible drownings. The Merced County Sheriff's Department has been searching for the bodies of two men who they believe went under water and didn't resurface.

It happened at Lake Yosemite in Merced just after 2PM. The Merced County Sheriff's Department said eventhough it's not allowed, people were jumping from the pier. They said one man in his 20's jumped from the pier and made it to the buoys.  Another man in his 40's jumped and started to struggle. They said when the younger man went to help, they both panicked and went under.

The Sheriff Office's dive team was out searching underwater for the bodies of the two men.  Since the water is so murky, they even used a robot on the floor helping to scan for the bodies.  The Sheriff's Department says they're not sure if alcohol played a factor in the possible drownings.
