Two Fresno County sheriff deputies suffered heat exhaustion Friday because of the intense heat.
It happened as crews were eradicating two large pot groves in the buckeye flats area of the Sequoia National Forest.
"This heat is a killer, it really is literally a killer. We take precautions but every year we have heat related issues with out deputies," says Lt. Rick Ko.
The deputies were air lifted out of the remote area and were treated for heat exhaustion.
Both deputies are doing fine.
The deputies uprooted 21,000 pot plants in the raid.
