A ten-year-old who was missing for 24 hours has been found safe in Fresno. Police say he was with an African American man in a red van. The boy appeared to be ok, but was being checked out by paramedics. The driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Madera County.
Police had been looking for the boy in the neighborhood where he disappeared. A full search effort included a helicopter in the air, officers on the ground, and divers in a nearby canal.
The boy's mother, Christina Letendre, spoke to CBS47 after he was found and said she's not allowed to see her son because of some questions that were raised about her parenting. She's been instructed to clean up the home she stays in and she may be reunited with her kids on Monday. Letendre says she was shown a picture of the man her son was with and she's never seen him before.
Police aren't saying yet if the boy is a victim of any crime.
