A 16-year-old riding a skateboard was struck and killed on North Avenue near McCall in Sanger on Monday.
The driver was apparently trying to pass the teen but ended up hitting the boy.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
It's unknown if the driver will be charged in the accident.
