Sacramento police took a mother into custody Monday for abandoning her children.
Kimberly James is accused of deserting her own kids, leaving them with strangers.
James says she asked a social work to help find adoptive parents for her kids and that officers arrested her for no reason.
Police say James told them she didn't want them and then ran off. "At one point, when the deputy was talking to hospital personnel, this woman actually tried to run and flee on foot in an attempt to abandon the kids there."
The mother is being held on $50,000 bail.
