Miguel Pedraga walked into fire station number 12 thursday night. Revealing himself for the first time... hours after rescuing a two year old boy from this canal.
"I saw baby in water; first instinct- get it outta there," said Miguel.
The baby was walking with his aunt when he fell in.
Not only did Miguel pull him out, he performed CPR...for the first time
I have a son so I would like someone to do it for me you know," said Miguel.
A mom also jumped in but the current was too strong.
"I couldn't do nothing. The baby was still floating all the way down," the mom said.
But in the middle of all the chaos- Miguel left, went about his business.
"I had to go and I went how and realized what happened," said Miguel.
Now Fresno firefighters want to give him a hero's award and a state valor award.
"We needed help on this and Miguel did right thing," said Fresno Fire Captain Michael GIll.
Miguel can't believe a few seconds can change so many lives.
"Glad God put me I position where I was able to get to this kid u know," said Miguel.
