A group of elected officials are speaking out on their concerns about the High Speed Rail Authority.

They gathered in downtown Fresno Wednesday to discuss the difficulties they've had with the Rail Authority.

The group says they're not against infrastructure projects, but have a problem with the Rail Authority's actions.

Fresno City Councilman Steve Brandau said, "Right now currently, Fresno businesses are getting, are receiving letters - some of them for the very first time - letting them know that their life and their livelihood is going to be disrupted."

Kings County Supervisor Joe Neves said, "Phase one will shift Amtrak & bypass cities where people and economies have become dependent on them including Hanford, and Corcoran, and Kings county."

The first section of the high speed rail project is supposed to break ground in the Valley this summer.
