Two men are in jail after attempting to outrun police in a stolen pickup.
The suspects crashed their vehicle in a vineyard near the intersection of Adams and Del Rey Tuesday afternoon.
It began as a police chase in the city of Sanger and made its way out to the countryside. The strange part is that the suspects tried to get away from the cops while towing another car.
Following the wreck, the suspects jumped out of the pickup and ran through an orchard.
The Fresno Co. Sheriff's Department helicopter and K-9 unit were called in to help find them.
"The K-9 was deployed on one of the suspects. That suspect has been transported to C.R.M.C. for medical treatment, but he is in custody," said Jaimy Gaines of the Sanger Police Dept.
The other man who ran was also arrested.
During a search of the scene, police recovered a gun which one of the suspects is accused of throwing away during the chase.
Investigators determined the pickup was stolen out of Dinuba. Inside the truck were also several stolen items.
