The continued Tuesday for a 35-year-old Southern California woman who went missing in the Golden Trout Wilderness area in Tulare County.

The woman was hiking with a partner on Sunday who went ahead but she never show up at their designated meeting site.

The hiker was reported missing early Monday morning but because of the remote location, crews are hiking in to begin the search.

Sgt. Chris Douglass with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department said, "It's pretty far up there, so our guys might be up in that area for a while. Our hope is that we can get in there and locate her quickly."

Sgt. Douglass says they are hoping to have access to a helicopter on Tuesday to drop in more search and rescue personnel because it takes so long to hike in.

If anyone saw the hiker or has heard anything, please call the Tulare County Sheriff's Department.
