The Oklahoma City minor league baseball team was in town to play the Fresno Grizzlies when a tornado devastated their community back home.
The twister hit the south Oklahoma City suburb of Moore. Much of the town was destroyed and at least 24 people were killed.
The storm formed just south of Oklahoma City and quickly gained strength as it moved east.
By the time it hit Moore, it was a mile-wide, EF4 tornado, with winds up to 200 miles an hour.
The tornado was on the ground for almost an hour, before spinning itself out.
As it happened, a team from Oklahoma City was in Fresno to play the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.
Members of the Oklahoma City Redhawks had to play through the pain Monday night.
The players tell CBS47 it's hard to play while families are back home feeling the direct pain.
There was a moment of silence as fans paused to honor Oklahoma City.
Fresno Grizzlies' catcher, Jackson Williams, is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. His wife and newborn son where in the back of his mind throughout the game. "Anything can pop up in that neck of the woods. Being from there and knowing how the weather is, you never know what's going to happen," said Williams.
The Redhawks will be in town through Thursday.
