A wildfire in the Yosemite Lakes Park area of Madera County destroyed one home but is now under control.

The fire started around 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon near Road 400 and Yosemite Springs Parkway.

The fire consumed 90 acres, destroyed one home and threatened others.

Cal Fire says they made significant progress overnight, despite gusting winds.

Battalion Chief Glenda Leonard said, "The breeze is what's causing all the problems right now. The fire was wind and terrain driven and with the breeze it's just harder for us to get control of a fire, especially when it's going around structures."

Road 400 had been closed at one point but is now open.
