High winds are pushing flames through the mountains in the Frazier Park area of the Grapevine pass of Interstate 5.

The fire started on Wednesday and firefighters ordered the evacuation of Frazier Mountain High School and two area campgrounds.

The El Tejon Unified School District decided to leave the school closed Thursday as a precaution.

Cal Fire crews from Tulare County were called in to help fight the fast-moving fire. "We received an order for a strike team of engines today (Wednesday), that's 5 engines with a total of 17 firemen. They left about four o'clock today, and there after, we received a second order for a strike team of hand crews. That's two inmate crews of 13 men a piece for a total of 26 and 3 captains," said Captain Aldo Gonzalez with the Tulare Cal Fire Unit.

As of Thursday morning, the fire had grown to over 3,500 acres and is only 15% contained.
