President Obama will hold a press conference Thursday and take questions from reporters as the scandal surrounding the I.R.S. continues to grow.

The government agency is accused of targeting conservative political groups such as the Tea Party.  The I.R.S. reportedly took an aggressive investigative approach with those who filed to become a non-profit organization with federal tax-exempt status.

During his national address Wednesday, President Obama announced that I.R.S. Commissioner, Steve Miller, has been fired.  President Obama wants to implement safeguards to ensure this does not happen again.  He also plans to have the government work closely with congress as it performs its oversight role.

"I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the I.R.S. given the power it has and the reach that it has in all of our lives.  It shouldn't matter what political stripe you're from.  The fact of the matter is the I.R.S. has to operate with absolute integrity," said President Barack Obama.

"I'm glad that for once it appears that democrats and republicans are united on this and see this was wrong.  Congress in both houses is going to get to the bottom of it," said Jared Gordon of the Central Valley Tea Party.

The wrongdoings of the I.R.S. reportedly took place over the last two years.
