A two year old boy was rescued from an apartment complex Tuesday after car smashed into his living room.

It happened at an apartment complex off Peach and Olive in South Fresno.

CBS 47's Lemor Abrams has more on the dramatic rescue.

The White Pontiac drove straight through the apartment complex.

"He lost control ...drove inside where two babies were sleeping," said Gary Taylor who saw what happened.

The car ended up in a living room where Vontae Garlang's two year old brother slept.

"It hit my little brother... he went off the bed...hit the closet door. He went unconscious," said Vontae Garlang.

Vontae held onto his brother until paramedics arrived. They drove him to the hospital  with head injuries.

"My mom was in the living room watching TV and then heard house shake," said Garlang.

Firefighters pulled the car out and used wood posts to stabilize the building.

"Right now we know the vehicle was traveling southbound ... Collided down the street and into part itself," said Fresno Police Lt. Phil Cooley.

Witnesses say they saw two African American men run.

The owner of the car showed up and we're told didn't cooperate with police.

Police say she loaned the car to someone but won't say who.

Neighbors say it could've been a lot worse.

"Kids play outside all the time. I thought he would have hit my car or run over other kids," said Gary Taylor.

If you have any information, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at 498-Stop.
