Less than twenty fours after gunmen opened fire, man and motor cycle made their return. Occupying the same Motel Six parking lot police say was the scene of a gang shootout.

"Several people pulled out firearms and began to fire into the crowd," said Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

Police say Anthony Wyatt was one of those people. Firing a six round revolver that they say he still had on him when confronted by an officer and when he refused to drop it, the officer opened fire but Wyatt was able to escape, before running into another officer just feet away.

“That officer fired at the suspect and ultimately he fell to the ground," said Dyer.

Wyatt remains hospitalized in stable condition. Police say he is a parolee with an extensive criminal history.

"Every year they come out, somebody gets hurt or killed," said Neighbor Alfred Vrewster.

Neighbors say shootouts when bikers are in town is nothing new. Police say more than twenty rounds were recovered at the scene and not all of them came from Wyatt’s gun.

"There were at least two other individuals armed with handguns and firing during this disturbance and their may be more," said Dyer.
