It was a walk he never returned from, his destination, family members say, not entirely known. Stephen Humphrey was 15 years old, the year was 2009 and now more than four years later, they think he's been found.
"We've been looking for years the FBI has been involved, police investigations but nothing has lead to any confirmation," said Steven’s cousin Shiloh Lee.
They will likely have to wait a while longer. Police are still trying to identify the body family members believe is Steven. A tip last week first lead police to this home inSoutheast Fresno and it took detectives hours before they could reach the unidentified body.
Steven's cousin Ben Essman worries the crowd he hung out with might have played a role in his disappearance and while he waits to find out if the body is Steven’s, he does his best to remember the boy he loved to be around.
"He was ultimately at the end of the day a great kid. He was funny, he was fun to be around and had a big heart,” said Essman.
