It’s a possible a break in a cold case dating back to 2009.
The body of a teenage boy was unearthed Tuesday morning a neighborhood backyard.
It was buried in the backyard of a house on Dearing Street in Southeast Fresno.
A team of homicide detectives dug for hours.
Police say they can't reveal the boy’s name until the coroner positively identifies the body.
The Department of Justice served the search warrant.
People living there were not home, but others at the scene describe themselves as relatives say they believe the body discovered is their cousin.
Relatives say he went for a walk one day and never returned. Police won’t confirm that.
“It’s tragic and that's why we had close to 20 detectives out here digging... digging about 20 tons of dirt,” said Fresno Police Lt. Mark Salazar.
“We’re finally happy to have some closure... to know that while everyone's been hurting and looking and we've had the leads. That there's some resolution finally,” said Shiloh Lee.
