Fresno Police say every officer is a target tonight.

Tensions are growing after officers shoot, and critically wound a suspected gang member.

CBS 47's Lemor Abrams is live at a police substation in Southwest Fresno with more on beefed up patrols.

We rode along with officers...mostly stayed in Southwest Fresno where police say a lot of the threats are coming from.

Officers tell me things haven't been this bad since 90's when violent crime was at all time high.

Fresno police officers responded to extra calls early Monday evening... with two officers to a car.

Police say gang members are threatening to kill officers and their families, in retaliation for an officer involved shooting Sunday afternoon that left a fellow member and suspected murderer in critical condition.

“We know there was threat made on an open message forum talked about killing officers," said Sgt. Boyer.

Sergeant Pete Boyer took us on patrol with him... in and around gang infested neighborhoods.

Swat teams are on also standby.

Some are protecting specific officers.

“What we're concerned about is the specific threats made; can't go details but all I can say is we take officer safety very seriously,” said Sgt. Boyer.

Tips are coming in as far as Hanford.

A woman at the train station reported hearing about the planned retaliation against police.

Earlier in the evening... more concern on Belmont and first calls came in that a man was shot outside the donut shop.

The incident is under investigation...as officers continue the gang operation.

"Our plan is to impact gang violence and keep officers safe," said Sgt. Boyer.

Fresno police want to get the word out there if, you hear of anything call police.
