Two people were sent to the hospital after being struck during a drive by shooting in central Fresno.

A Cadillac was riddled with bullets just before 8:00 Tuesday evening.

Police say people in a dark colored S.U.V. fired multiple rounds at it while both vehicles were stopped at the intersection of Hughes and Shields.

The two people inside the Cadillac were hit, so the driver pulled over just down the street and had a homeowner call 911.

“We arrived and the victims were transported to CRMC hospital with what appears right now to be non-life threatening injuries,” said Lt. Phil Cooley of the Fresno Police Dept.

The driver of a small silver car was also at the intersection where the shooting happened.  However, police say they were an innocent bystander who was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Everyone is ok in that vehicle,” said Lt. Phil Cooley.

Police are still looking for the suspects in that dark colored S.U.V.  Call Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 if you have information that can help catch them.
