Friday evening, police were in southeast Fresno for more than four hours investigating a shooting.
It happened around 6:30 at the AM / PM gas station located at Kings Canyon and Winery.
Police say a group of about three to five black men got into an argument inside the mini-mart and it spilled over into the parking lot.
One of the guys pulled out a gun and fired it, striking a man eight times.
He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for surgery. He is expected to survive.
By the time the cops arrived, everyone but the victim was gone.
“It seems like there was no vehicle at this time. Everybody was on foot the suspects and whoever that individual was with also took off running with them,” Lt. Jose Garza of the Fresno Police Dept.
Officers got a report that the suspects may be at the cedar creek apartments, which is down the street off Winery and Lane. However, police were not able to find anyone they could hold responsible.
Police say the victim has had past run-ins with the law by being convicted of property crimes.
