It's a CBS47 exclusive. New developments in the case of a sex offender in
38-year-old Frank Charles Reddell is accused of producing and possessing child pornography according to a federal indictment. He reportedly used his job as a handyman to prey on innocent children.
A grandmother of one of the alleged victims is urging other families to come forward, to keep Reddell behind bars.
“Frank Reddell was sent to my home by a real estate agency that was renting homes,” the grandmother said.
We'll call her Lisa. It's not her real name. And we are concealing her identity to protect her and her grandson.
Reddell, a registered sex offender, on parole for committing lewd acts with a child, was sent to her home to fix the air conditioner.
Her two-year-old grandson was home.
Reddell reportedly got the child alone.
“Five seconds and that's all it takes to molest a child. Learning how to walk, from one room to the next. Five seconds,” the grandmother said her grandson had just walked into the room where Reddell was supposed to be working.
According to a federal indictment, Reddell allegedly molested the child and took pictures of the act.
“He pulled my grandson's diaper and fondled him and my grandson told him no, at the age of two, and he stopped,” Lisa said.
Investigators and Lisa told us Reddell conducted work for Miracle Realty on Road 26.
The Madera Sheriff's department searched the business Wednesday.
And the sheriff's department confirmed to CBS47 a search warrant was served "concerning the ongoing investigation into Frank Charles Reddell.
We tried to contact the realty company
No one answered at the office.
So we called. And we asked to speak with the owner or supervisor.
No one from the company called us back.
In December, Reddell was arrested outside a Madera Starbucks when his parole officer caught Reddell allegedly viewing child pornography on a laptop computer using the store's free Wi-Fi. Lisa didn't realize at first that this was the man who'd been in her house.
“The reason why I didn't recognize him was because he didn't have those goggle glasses that he wore,” Lisa said, of the mug shot that was released after his arrest.
This is how Lisa remembers Reddell, with glasses.
His mug shot at the time showed him without glasses.
Lisa has a message for families who think their children may have been victims of Frank Reddell.
“If this predator was in your home take a good look at his picture. Come forward. Break the silence,” Lisa said.
