The 3rd annual Fresno Food Expo kicked off Thursday morning at the Fresno Convention Center in downtown Fresno.
More than 100 Valley-based producers are participating this year and more than 500 buyers from around the world are expected to attend.
The daytime portion of the expo is only open to people in the food industry and gives the local companies an opportunity to showcase their locally produced products to buyers from around the country and around the world.
Then at 5:00 p.m. the expo opens their doors to the public for sampling and sales.
From almonds, to cheese, to wine and so much more, the expo has a wide selection of the really good stuff made right here in the valley.
One of the big highlights this year are the 25 international buyers attending, bringing new opportunities Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin believes businesses of all sizes can benefit from. "There are a 105 businesses, some of them small, some of them large... all putting their products on display and hopefully today they will leave here with some new contracts for business."
