The Fresno County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting by a Selma police officer over the weekend.
The shooting happened around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the Villager Inn.
Selma officers were attempting to get 32-year-old Clayton Cass to come out of his room when witnesses heard them yell, "He's got a gun" followed by several gunshots.
Cass was killed in the shootout.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Department has taken over the investigation.
