In Central Fresno today the inaugeral Heart and Soul festival kicked off at Manchester Center.
The Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce put on the event.
It featured a job and college fair as well as local entertainment.
The event celebrated Black History Month and gave people a taste of African-American culture.
"We thought it was really important to have this occasion where people could come and taste a little bit of the soul and the heart of the African-American community," Tate Hill the President of the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce said.
The event was named by the chamber which said that black culture is the heart and soul of America.
